My father, who would be known today as an "Old School Minister", used this slogan often and it is so relevant not only to my life, but to the lives of many of you. "He may not get there when you want him to, but He is always, right on time". Have you ever been in a dire situation, perhaps you were laid off and down to you last month of income to pay your bills, you did not know what you're going to do? The challenges seemed to constantly pile on caused and you stretch your hand to the Lord and ask Him to come to your rescue and to see you through. You see I, have and that is my story. The Lord opened a door and gave me a job, which will allow me to pay my bills.

Perhaps you have been praying constantly for intervention from the Lord and He came through after quite sometime of constant prayer. He came though in ways that you never imagined. Because you can't imagine or use human logic to explain what God will do and how God will do it. That's the beauty of God's Plan. He foiled even the best laid plans of man. You see our lives are a blueprint and a spiritual story in which Almighty God is the architect of our spiritual building.

You see God sees the total picture in building the purpose for our lives and He uses our circumstances for the good in order to advance His purpose. Sometimes he does not answer a prayer. There's generally three ways he can answer our prayer request. He can do it. He can say no. He can say wait. There is a reason he uses any one of those responses. It is not for us to figure out. Don't try, you're merely wasting your time. No one knows why God allows a trying circumstance to continue. Only He knows the absolute plan. But know this; God will never leave you or forsake you. He may not get there when you want Him to, but he is always right on time.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Why We Really Celebrate Christmas

During this Christmas season we are reminded of why we are celebrating this great day. The Day that Jesus Christ was born. We should not take it lightly because Christ's birth marked the first day of his assignment to live as we lived, experience the emotions that we felt, and more importantly, complete His ministry on earth to free us from the chains of the 'Law of Sin and Death.

Christ did so much more for us than just to live as a man on earth. Yes he had earthly empathy for us, but he also knew the challenges that we faced. Even though he was with God from the very beginning, God sent His only Son to free us from this Fallen World and defeat satan. He accomplished that goal on Calvary, where he died a violent death on the cross, but the accomplishment offer us all the greatest gift that any of us will ever receive. The gift of eternal life. A gift of grace. It is a gift freely given to us if we accept Christ as our Savior. When Christ said "It is Finished" on the cross he meant it. The gift of eternal life is there for anyone who asks for it and ask for Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of their lives.

The next time someone ask,be sure to remind them of why we really celebrate Christmas. It is not for the gifts, the pageantry, the toys or any of that. It is something more eternal than that; Christmas celebrates the birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christ who overcame the world. Christ "Who is the way the truth and the light".

Thank you Jesus, For your supreme sacrifice on Calvary and your gift of Salvation. You overcame the world and we can overcome the world as well through You.

Growth In The Word

Just as we often develop business Plans we develop plans to love the Lord and His purpose for our lives. We have a blueprint for each success. A guide to understanding and directions to applying the Word and how it applies to our lives. At each step we take a progress assessment; each month, each quarter, we review our progress and learn from it.

This is a continual process in our spiritual growth which encompasses study, prayer and meditation in the Word. Suddenly we change for the better,because we have the victory of a renewed life in Christ.

When You Have Favor With The Lord

It is Finished

Jesus told us "It is finished". The finality of that statement manifest itself in our life on a daily basis. We can cast off our burdens. The heavy weight of oppression. We've got the peace that flows in our hearts and minds. It is an awesome and powerful gift the He gave us, when we know full well that "It is done"!

Philospophy Is Meaningless Chatter

Philosophy has a certain place in society however distant and meaningless. It has existed since the beginning of time. Nothing more than people and institutions using earthly logic to concur the absolute truths of life. Absolute truth are our weak human attempt to rationally explain our existence. They are merely weak arguments about our existence.

Giving Your Life To The Lord

It's easy to say, "I'll go wherever you go", we often make false promises to God. That is promises that we do not have the commitment to keep. It is easy to say you want His will over your own. This requires sacrifice, confession, and a heart molded after our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It requires leaving behind our habits, our wants, our dislikes, and taking up the cross for the Lord. We can't have one foot in this secular world and one foot supposedly in God's world. It going to require a spiritual sacrifice, giving your life to Christ means making a total commitment. Are you ready to make that step for the Lord?

Are you ready for a spiritual makeover. Ask Jesus to come into your life. Confess your sins and give the honor and glory to Him. Let Him know that you are ready to serve, wherever He deems necessary.

A Mind "Gone Rogue"

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5

We must guard against 'Rogue" thoughts that enter our mind and cause us to take actions or develop ideas that are against the knowledge of God.

We often feel and act passively about our thoughts; we feel thoughts and emotions are a normal thing and we have no control over them. On the contrary we do. Our mind is not a loose cannon able to run freely and deposit unwholesome thoughts that can ultimately destroy us.

God in His wisdom, gave us weapons to recognize when our mind has strayed away from the teachings of God. He said we must "hold every thought captive". We have that ability. The most powerful weapon that satan has in his toolbox is to capture our mind.

Think about it, how often do you struggle with controlling your thoughts? It is a constant struggle. Primarily because you are not exercising the shield of faith that God has given to you.

Ephesians 10: 13 " Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may stand your ground, after you have done everything to stand.

We are in spiritual warfare against the devil, do not forget that, and his main tactic is to take control of our minds. You must be constantly equipped with spiritual weapons to fight the schemes of the devil

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

He Promised Never To Leave Me, Never to Leave Me Alone

Trust In The Lord and Lean Not On Your On Understanding

We must honor God, Through our daily voice and our daily walk through life. It is important that we honor God. We must do this at all hours of the day. It is important that we Trust in the Lord to lead us though the situations of life. God said, in Proverbs 3:6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."

Let God, be God. Do not try to take matters completely in your own hand. It is a balancing act that we must perform. Do what you can do; everything humanly possible, and then step back and let the Lord do what he needs to do to move us through each situation.

We must have faith in the Lord, so that he can lead us through each situation. We only have human logic, which is muddled, confused, and often tainted with confusion. God's logic is His and His only. Trust in God and lean not on your own understanding.

Learning To Live With Adversity

When adversity strikes what do you do? Do you run for cover or do you hunker down and face the culprit with the grit and determination from deep inside. There are a number of ways people deal with adversity. Some deal with it with a tenacity that is unsurpassed and will not accept failure. Other simply run away and hide and give up. It is not easy dealing with a terminal diagnoses, a job loss, or the death of a loved one. All are devastating events that shake us to our very core.

The experts give us sound advice. Do not deny that the event occurred. Accept that it occurred, so that you can move on. This is the standard advice. But most adversity is on going and it will simply not go away overnight. It will linger for quite sometime, perhaps even years. No matter what the adversity, you must have a game plan. I have found that the best way to deal with adversity is to develop an inner peace that in many cases is unexplainable. That is you are able to live and function above your on going circumstance. It is the ability to function in a perpetual peace despite the physical turmoil that is going on in and around you.

It is a zone and a state, that you must develop. This is the first step in overcoming adversity. You can only find this peace through Jesus Christ. Try to know Him and he will show you peace.

Put On The Full Armour of God

Our faith can be constantly tested and challenged as we know the the enemy roams to and fro across the earth. satan is looking for opportunities to foil our plans. Stop us in our tracks. To tilt the scales through us through deceit and deception. Don't let him win! Despite our challenges we can live victoriously through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He already defeated satan on Calvary and His protection is ours if we only ask for it.

We will still be menaced by satan, but it is all taunting and a nuisance, they call it trash talk today. If you don't know Christ, you can give in to this nonsense, because you don't know better. You know satan would like to do nothing more than destroy you even if he's not powerful enough to do it! It is a game of deception and though Jesus Christ you can win. Through Christ you can be saved, born again, and have eternal salvation!

A New Season

We will go through many season in our life. I am particularly fond of the song, Its a New Season. One of the stanza in the song says, 'Its a new season, it's a new day, a fresh anointing in coming your way. We have many season in our lives. Season of hope, season of despair. A season of a new beginning. So we must learn to accept and live above our current circumstance. It is primarily because we could be in a down season, a depressed economy or job loss, you know your situation.

One thing we all must hold on to is the unyielding love of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. We need to embrace the season of challenge or hope, whatever it may be. We should gleam any knowledge from it that we can and trust God to Be Who he is...Able to do anything but fail.

Honesty

Honesty should be a characteristic that we all should have and apply to our lives on a daily basis. It is important because we need to be in spiritual alignment with the Lord at all times. When we are dishonest,it chips away from our Godly relationship, and the sinful act of being dishonest, becomes the center of our lives.

Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.

We Can Do All Things Through Christ!

The Apostle Paul learned through many difficult circumstances that he could rely on Jesus. His convictions guided him and caused him to know that nothing could separate him from the love of Christ. It is that same conviction that we must live our lives. We must know that no matter what the circumstance or situation that Jesus is still on the throne, sitting on the right hand of God.

We often feel like time is running out, we're in the fourth quarter of the game and we have one last shot to win the game. It is the same in life, the promises of the Lord Jesus Christ is always there to give us hope in the worst of circumstances.

We can and will always be winners through Christ who strengthen us and never fails. Just hold firm, despite the circumstance, despite the calamity. Look up to the Lord and he will see you through to the end. Always remember, 'We can Do all Things through Christ who strengthens us.

Be Strong and Of Good Courage

Everything we have belongs to God. God is the ultimate source of our wealth and everything we have, want, or need. When you begin to understand this principle you can give back to the Lord your time, trust, resources, or any area that you feel so moved. God will in turn give back to you by putting wonderful people in your life, to give you hope. Stay focused on God and remember to give thanks and honor to Him everyday.

Joshua 1: 7- 10- "Be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do all the law that Moses has given you (The law given to Moses from God, the Ten Commandments); do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. (God wants us to prosper). This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? You Can Worship God At Anytime

3 John 1: 2- “I pray that you will prosper and be in health, just as your soul prospers”.

God promises that His Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). Because of that promise, we know that as we study, meditate on, and memorize Bible verses, God will use them to bear fruit (show progress and prosperity in your life). The Bible is intended for more than just reading. God gave it to help us transform our hearts and lives.

John 4:24- While you may desire a familiar place to worship, Jesus points out that worship is not a matter of location or position, but of the spirit, (meaning you can worship the Lord at anytime or at any place). If you focus too much on the time and place, there is a danger that worship will over shadow the one you worship (Almighty God and His son Jesus Christ).

We worship in the spirit because “God is Spirit”. So we should relate to him in Spirit (your thoughts and understanding of spiritual ideas and direction ). God gives you this understanding as you draw closer to him and seek his word. God’s divine nature is a mystery at first. In time you will discover who God is, worship becomes more complete and fulfilling. Pray to God in the Name of Jesus, who saved us, when he died on the cross. No one can get to God, unless they acknowledge Jesus as their Savior. Begin or end every prayer, by saying “In the name of Jesus, I pray….Amen”.

Transformed To God's Thinking

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2

With the stresses that the world puts on us, the pressure that we are subjected to, the so called politically correct things we are instructed to do, this sinful world that we live in is satan's workshop to conform us to his thinking. Make no mistake; satan is out to not only destroy you, but to destroy the world. Nothing in this world is good, nothing in this world can give you hope, salvation or security. So we must be diligent to not allow ourselves to be conformed and molded to the sinful shape of the world. We must be diligent in our work of transforming our minds and and our walk in life to the shape and purpose of the Lord.

Despite this charge, that is our purpose; to renew our minds, transform our minds on daily basis, by staying in the word, meditating on the word, hearing the word, hearing and hearing the word, over and over again. That is our unique purpose though our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

You do this by studying the word of God through the Holy Bible, not just on Sunday, you don't have to dress up to be transformed! Jesus will accept you , "Just As You Are". Yes you can get right out bed and work on transforming your mind. Before you get dressed for work, you can transform you mind. Don't wait for Sunday to do this. Work on it every single day, for the rest of your life here on earth, so that you will prove to everyone, wherever you go the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Strange As it Seems

Despite all that we face in this evil world, we still will not erase the hand of God. God's hand is everywhere. His hand is there because he has a plan for us through His Son and our Savior Jesus Christ. We don't need a panel of experts on CNN to figure that out. No, the bible is our expert. We don't need an equal panel of analyst, representing every political party; one republican and one democrat for equal representation. No, the Lord already decreed that His word is true and correct. It is what it is!

Yet we go through life searching for any fad we can lay our hands on. Miracle diets, cosmetic surgery, all because we do not like the way we look. We do not like the body template that Lord gave us. So we destroy our bodies, the way God made us,because we live for this world, this fallen world.

Strange as it seems we rely on everything ungodly to make us godly.
Strange as it seems we call good bad and bad good.
Strange as it seems we destroy anything that God's law mandate, so that we can discredit it.
Strange as it seems we don't believe that Jesus Christ already gave us everlasting life.
Strange as is seems we worship political correctness.
Strange as it seems we don't believe that Jesus is Lord.
Strange as it seems we do not believe that Jesus Loves and cares for us.
Strange as it seems God Loves us and His Son Jesus Christ Loves Us.
Strange as it seems Nothing can ever separate us from the Love and Care of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We will all answer to God in the end, whether you believe that or not. He will look at how we conducted our lives, the contributions you made or did not make, and how you lived your life. But first and foremost He will want to know one thing; Did You accept His Son and Our Savior Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life? Only through Christ Can you Know the Father. Come to Christ today.... before it is too late!

Only The Strong Survivie

My father once preached a sermon entitled Looking Back/Only The Strong Survive. The title came from a hit single from Jerry Butler 1969 hit entitled "Only The Strong Survive" He borrowed the titled for the text and body of his sermon. Though it was a secular song, the words were meaningful.

The song focused on how a mother consoled her son, after the girl that he loved left him. She told her son there will be a lot of trouble in your life, but just hold out and everything will be alright.

Only The Strong Survive

The sermon touched on the key point that we need to be "Strong" in the Lord's will and in his word. "Survival" means that we need to be over comers in this fallen world. To learn to live above our circumstances as we make our way through life's pitfalls and setbacks. We need to have Jesus love and care in order to weather the storm and have the reality of survival through Jesus Christ. Yes only the strong survive through Jesus Christ and Almighty God.

John 3:16- For God so loved the world that he gave His Only Son, who ever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

We Are Here For Service To the Lord

Godliness with contentment is great gain, we brought noting into this world and it is certain, we will carry nothing out. We must dedicate our lives to Christ; body, mind and soul, for the betterment of his kingdom. Nothing should interfere with that directive. What are we doing today to further the kingdom of Christ?

Faith is Complete Trust In God Through Jesus Christ

What is faith? Faith is the total belief: a complete trust or confidence. By faith we understand that the world's were framed by the word of God, so that things which are not seen were not made of things which are visible" Having faith means that you may not understand everything about a topic or issue, yet you believe it anyway.

Do you place your faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Is there an urge within you to believe that God's word is true and the He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our Sins, transgressions and inequities? If so accept the Lord today as your personal Savior and the Lord of Your life and you will have eternal, everlasting life.
